Yoga is an ancient Indian body of knowledge that dates back more than 5000 years ago. The word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj” which means – to unite. Yoga is the union of a person’s own consciousness, body, mind and spirit. Ancient Yogis devised a way to attain this equilibrium through exercise, meditation and breathing.
If a peaceful mind, a healthy body inside and out as well as honing your mental focus and riding your system of toxins is your desired outcome then Hatha Yoga maybe the path for you.
Physical poses – “Asana”: These are the range of physical poses.
Breathing techniques – “Pranayama”: Breathing techniques in Yoga were developed based on the concept that breath is the source of life.
Meditation: Meditation develops awareness of our body and helps focus the breath and mind thus relieving us from our everyday stresses.
